Nigerians living in communities affected with insurgency has indeed no more tears in their eyes, they have suffered and watched family member burnt alive, butchered. countless Pregnant mothers killed giving birth…ohhh (sad). Many has lost hope of reuniting with family members. Irrespective of all this challenges our beloved country is trying so hard to restore hope to all families affected and Traffina foundation is out to give additional support.
Staff of Traffina Foundation visited a camp and carried out a need assessment survey. The camp has a population of about 800 persons. Our conversation with the head of the camp said although they get to buy drugs from people who hawk drugs in baskets when they fall ill, there are no health centers around the camp and those that are sick do self-medication.
Pregnant Women in camps do not access antenatal care and they deliver their babies in unhealthy environment, without the presence of skilled birth attendants. Children in this camp also do not have access to immunization services and fail to receive the recommended immunization for prevention of childhood diseases. Women and girls are at risk of gender based violence such as oppression and rape and to this no access to emergency contraceptive and centers for succor for person violated.
We have a lot of support to give now that we have them alive, ranging from free health care services, ANC, trainings for birth attendants, Psychological support, foods , clothing and shelter.
Nigeria is our country, lets join hands and restore the joy and glory of our land.
