Millennia2015 “Women actors of development for the global challenges” is a foresight research process. The worldwide think-and-action tank which has been launched and implemented in 2007 by the Destree Institute, a European pluralist research centre established in Wallonia, NGO official partner of UNESCO (consultative status) and in Special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC since 2012.
The Millennia2015 process, built with its international partners, is structured through three phases: “information transfer”, “knowledge process” and “intelligence platforms”. They are regulated by three international conferences organized by The Destree Institute: the first one in Liege in March 2008, the second one with the patronage of the UNESCO in Paris in December 2012 for “Millennia2015, An action plan for women’s empowerment” (including certifying trainings and specific meetings at the UNESCO) and the third one at the United Nations in New York in 2015 for the global results of the Action Plan at the horizon 2025.
Over the past two (2) years the Millennia foundation and WeObservatory has been supporting TFCH through the Connecting Nurses and Sanofi Aventis. In 2012 TFCH was selected as one of the winner of the “care challenge/helping hand award” which was open to more than 50 million Nurses across the world. At the end of the project , TFCH project “LETS SAVE OUR MOTHERS” was reselected by the Millennia Foundation and We-Observatory to create more visibility and also to provide more support for the organization.
Indeed working with Millennia Team has been one of the best thing so far that has happened to TFCH. The support has been very amazing as this has projected TFCH beyond our imagination.
Recently the Millennia foundation and WeObservatory made a donation of two thousand (2,000) USD to support the production of TFCH life saving product “clean birth & newborn kit”. This is indeed another great support as this will go a very long way in saving lives of pregnant mothers and newborn in rural communities in Nigeria. The birth kits has all been produced and ready for distribution. Though we encountered a bit of security challenges at the previous community we mapped out. Good plans are in place to work in a more crisis free zone
We say a big thank you to our very own Veronique Thouvenot and her team for always supporting our vision. We at TFCH are very proud of your strength and passion you have for all women across the globe especially in Nigeria.
