At the Nigerian National Newborn conference held in Abuja organized by World Health Organization, the Founder and CEO of Traffina Foundation presented a paper titled “Experience with Clean births and Newborn Kit in Nigeria”. The founder of TFCH who is a Registered Nurse Midwife in Nigeria, has been at the front line in promoting Maternal ,newborn and child health services through provision of free complete clean birth and newborn kit, community advocacy and senstizations on need for communities to utilize the free product at health facilities. Also TFCH has been promoting male involvement in MNCH by engaging men through a program tagged ” the school of Husbands” which has improved family planning knowledge and access of FP commodities within the communities.
At the conference TFCH founder had the opportunity to present on the positive effect of the Clean birth kits and how its has improved quality of care and access to MNCH services at the local level. On her presentation there is evidence that this project “1KIT SAVES2 lives” which has designed, produced and distributed six thousand (6000) free clean birth kits has increased health facility delivery, Ante-natal care services , immunizations, increase in family planning services , reduction in cases of childhood illnesses.
The Federal government representatives and all partners present were happy about the strong passion and dedication of TFCH towards achieving MGD 4,5.
